Bill Cosby dishes out more big laughs in this gentle yet hip family comedy. Dr. Cliff Huxtable and wife Claire balance their professional careers as well as bringing up five kids who live in a house where love and laughter abound.

Cliff delivers babies for a living and has an office at home. His wife Claire is a successful lawyer. They have five children ranging from the youngest Rudy to the eldest Sondra. Most of the episodes revolve around Cliff dealing with his kids as they grew up and some eventually moved out. A lot of family situations and celebrations complete with some great music and fun took place over the course of the show. In some of the show's best episodes Cliff, Claire and their kids put on a lip-syncing show for the grandparents' anniversary to some old jazz or blues song.
